The first project is about the\u00a0<strong>molecular testing\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0HIV detection. We focus on assays based on isothermal nucleic acid amplification which have a huge potential in cheap, on-site\u00a0<strong>point of care<\/strong> diagnosis. I myself contribute to modeling the <strong>amplification curve<\/strong>\u00a0to extract information including\u00a0<strong>sample numbers<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>amplification rates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The second project focuses on the\u00a0<strong>tRNA retrograde transport<\/strong>, which is a critical process in\u00a0<strong>HIV infection<\/strong>. This phenomenon is responsible for the transport of the HIV reverse transcription complex into the nucleus, where it incorporates the viral genome into the host cell. This transport mechanism and condition is still unclear. We were able to do the experiments with fluorescent-labeled tRNA and monitored the real-time distribution of the tRNA. \u00a0I worked primarily for the\u00a0<strong>modeling<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>numerical simulation<\/strong>\u00a0of the process.
